•1984: The 39 repeater is put in
service by Dave Metz and was located in Meredith.
Not sure if it
was always on Gilman Hill…
•1992. Dave Metz announces he is
selling the repeater. A club member, Richard Hansen - KA1BUC, purchases the repeater. The
repeater remained in Meredith on Gilman Hill.
•1998: KA1BUC decides to sell the 39
repeater so CNHARC decides to get into the repeater business. The repeater remains in
Meredith on Gilman Hill. We applied for a club call and were assigned KB1BRZ, this call is used on
the repeater. We also take on a $1000.00 a year tower rental fee.
•1999: Repeater was moved to new
location on Liberty Hill in Gilford and was given our new club call of W1JY. We also are at the
site rental free!
•2000: After series of repeater
equipment issues, new repeater equipment was put into service at the new Liberty Hill
location also allowing us new features and flexibilities.
•2004: We add a second repeater, the
146.985, in Moultonborough. This repeater is installed at Arthur Abbott’s (N1WMI) tower next
to Red Hill at no cost to the club.
•2004: We created an Echolink node and
ran from a remote location since it needs access to the internet.
•2005: A remote base radio was
installed at the 39 site. It is used to connect to the 985 repeater in Moultonborough. We go
through a series of multi-path issues on the remote base, so it’s set as RX only. We also
assume the electric bill at the Liberty Hill site.
•2007: A cable modem was installed at
the 39 site and the Echolink node was moved to there. We also disconnected our Verizon
phone line and installed a VoIP phone system saving money!
•2008: Who knows???
