We currently have (2) DR1X repeaters and if you are like us, we find it kind of a pain to have to remove the 15 screws and the cover just to get to the switch to allow for firmware updates.
What we did is modified our covers so it’s a bit easier.

- First we removed the cover and measured where to center the hole.
- Second we drilled a 3/4 hole and used a 3/4 mobile antenna grommet/plug.
- We found the dimensions for the center of the 3/4 inch hole to be 1 and 1/4 inches from the side of and 4 and 3/8 inches from the front.
- Here is the finished modification. Now we just pop off the rubber grommet, toggle the switch and perform the update(s) from Yaesu.
